Counselling, Therapy & Supervision

Julie Roper

Counselling
Counselling is a confidential safe place to explore your issues’  which often requires about 8-20 sessions however, depending on the issues, some work may become long term.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is usually more frequent and longer than counselling.  Clients can be seen up to twice

weekly.  It is underpinned by a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.

Family Therapy
Family therapy provides 8-10 weekly sessions of systemic counselling for families who are experiencing difficulties.  It allows families to come together to explore their issues and their feelings.  The therapist will create a safe space with set boundaries for this to happen.

Couple Therapy
Couple Therapy is usually carried out over 8-10 weekly sessions.  The sessions allow couples to look at and explore their relationship, with a therapist who is impartial and objective.  The initial assessment is spent looking at the motivation of the couple, and the suitability of couple therapy.
